Methods of Making Alkaline Water at Home

Making your alkaline water can be done in various ways. Some are based on everyday groceries typically found in almost every kitchen, while others are a bit more complicated and require more effort. Which one you will apply depends on how quickly you want to drink and what’s your budget.

However, before making that call, you need to decide whether you will make it from bottled, filtered, or tap water.

Determine PH Level

The first and one of the most critical steps in making alkaline water is determining the water ph levels.

Tap water ph level on average ranges from 6 to 8 and can sometimes become acidic and carry metals from the pipes which are not good for your health. That is why if you opt to use tap water, it is for the best to first filter out the impurities.

In any case, the best way to determine the ph levels is with the help of ph detection packages. They can be easily obtained online or in health stores. Almost all ph detection packages come with litmus strips and a color-coded chart.

After you expose the litmus strip to the water you are testing, it will change color. Compare the color of the litmus strip with the color-coded chart, and you will be able to determine the ph level of the water you are testing.
